Are
these all your children?
Yes, these are all our children! Judy and
I have been married 28 years and we are their parents.
Where
do your kids go to school?
Our children are all home schooled with "Our Lady of the Rosary School"
curriculum. It takes good organization, patience, prayers and we feel
the rewards are worth all the time spent on our children.
How
much do you practice every week?
When we are doing shows day after day we usually just warm up, do our
shows and call it good. But when there is more time off we practice
5-6 days per week for 1 to 2 hours. Most of us know what we want to
work on and realize we have to do it on our own to accomplish the tricks
we want to perform in shows.
Do
you have a large house?
Yes! We have a large three story home and
live on the corner with nice neighbors in a rural farming community.
How
many boys and girls do you have?
We have 4 boys and 7 girls and would like to have more boys.
What
do you all travel in?
We travel in a 1998 Bounder motor home that is 37' long and pull a Wells
Cargo trailer behind with our equipment and costumes in it.
When
did your family start juggling?
In 1989 four of us started at an amusement park in Iowa and by 1992
we all were in the show as "The Boehmer Family Jugglers".
Does
your family travel much?
Yes, over the years we have been traveling more and more, in 1997 we
put on 25,000 miles. We want to see the country and love to travel and
experience America from our RV.
Is
Bosco named after the chocolate drink?
No, nor is he named after the cartoon character. He is named after St.
John Bosco, an Italian priest who became famous for his devotion and
care of homeless boys and girls. The kids were studying St. Bosco, they
got the dog, and the rest is history.
Do
any of the kids not like to do shows?
Sometimes we all have a lazy day, but once we get to our destination
and the show atmosphere is at hand we all love to entertain.
Where
do you like to perform at the best?
We love to stay at theme parks for long runs but really like to see
the huge crowds at professional games.
Do
you use Bosco in your act?
Larry is working on that one. He is still a puppy and easily distracted
by the kids. He can balance in Larry's hand when he really feels like
practicing.
